New Build

New Build — Thornbury, Devon

Thornbury, Devon

A substantial new-build residential property at Thornbury, Devon. This project involved full groundworks and drainage, blockwork construction, structural steelwork, the installation of large oak timber roof trusses lifted by crane, interior insulation within the oak frame, external silicone rendering, and a bespoke natural stone patio with a decorative compass rose centrepiece. The build showcases modern construction methods at scale — from deep foundations through to a complex roof structure, finished exterior, and landscaped outdoor living spaces.

Entrance Build

Entrance Pillars — Reclaimed Materials

North Cornwall

A bespoke entrance project using entirely reclaimed stone and brick to create striking entrance pillars, curved boundary walls, and a cattle grid entrance. Each pillar combines reclaimed brick quoins with natural stone infill panels, creating a character-rich entrance that feels both historic and purposeful. The curved wall section and integrated 'Sam's Meadow' signage complete a welcoming property entrance.

Bespoke Work

Bespoke Chimney Hood

North Cornwall

A completely bespoke chimney hood and extractor surround, hand-built on site to accommodate the existing architectural features of the room. The construction progressed through multiple stages: an oak mantel shelf base, a timber lath and expanded metal mesh framework shaped into a flowing organic form, followed by multiple layers of render — from a base scratch coat through to a decorative hand-scored textured finish.

Traditional Stonework

Traditional Stone Walling

North Cornwall

Traditional stone walling using locally sourced natural stone and lime-based products produced in the area. This project involved constructing retaining walls, a raised patio area with sandstone paving, and boundary walls to complement an existing stone cottage. All stonework was laid using traditional techniques and natural lime mortar — a breathable, heritage-appropriate material that allows the walls to flex and weather naturally.
